two Nepalis and a Sudanese national working for UNHCR have been kidnapped Sunday in Geneina, the Capital of West Darfur kingdom, the record brought.
“a collection of armed men kidnapped the day past 3 UNHCR people, two Nepalese and a Sudanese, from Geneina,” Abdelah Mustafa, spokesman for the country government of West Darfur instructed AFP.
Darfur has been engulfed in a lethal conflict considering 2003 whilst ethnic minority groups took up arms in opposition to President Omar al-Bashir’s Arab-ruled authorities, which launched a brutal counter-insurgency.
at least three hundred,000 human beings have been killed and 2.5 million displaced in Darfur because then, the UN says.
Bashir is wanted by way of the international criminal courtroom on war crimes and genocide costs associated with Darfur, which he denies.
Sudan insists that the war in Darfur has ended, and that it wants UN peacekeepers who’ve been deployed in the region the size of France because 2007 to leave.
