Motorrad, the motorcycle division of BMW Group, is gearing itself to
launch its range of motorcycles in India. The company is currently in
the process of setting up exclusive BMW dealerships along with the
service network. While it is a known fact that BMW will launch all its
models in India along with the entry level made in India G 310 R, the
company has now confirmed that the launch of the BMW G 310 R naked
street-fighter will take place in India by March / April 2017. Answering
a query posted by a twitter user, the BMW Motorrad, through its
official twitter handle, revealed that the bike will be launched in
India in spring 2017. While the G 310 R is expected to be launched by March/April 2017,
the company had earlier confirmed the launch of the BMW G 310 GS
adventure tourer by the end of next year. Both the bikes will be
manufactured locally by TVS Motors at its facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu
while BMW will provide the technology to manufacture these bikes. Both
the bikes will be exported to global markets from India while TVS will
also manufacture the Akula 310 which will be based on the same platform.
