A documentary ‘Katha Nalapani’ about the unification of Nepal was screened at Nepal Army Headquarters, on Friday.The documentary was produced focusing the battle that took place around the Nalapani fort during the unification.The Nepali battalion under the leadership of Balbhadra Kunwar comprising women and children had braved the British militants carrying modern arms in the Nalapani battle.
The organizer showed confidence that the documentary would help young generation know why the Nalapani battle took place, what Nepal achieved from it.
The documentary informs that there was the contribution of all classes on the unification of Nepal and no one had compromised on the nation and nationality.The Nalapani battle carries a huge significance in Nepal’s unification history.
Gorkhali battalion numbered around 600 comprising women and children had to fight the war without drinking water for four days after the enemies cut off the water supply.
The film has also portrayed the scenes featuring two children crying, an injured child sucking its mother’s breast and injured man and woman battling death when the English battalion entered the fort after winning the fight.
