Rupandehi district security committee has recommended the government to declare Youth Association (Rupandehi) Chair Durga Tiwari, who died in a shooting at Khairahani Bazaar, Devdaha municipality, a martyr. The family has accused the government of trying to link the murder with a person named Manoj Pun, in a bid to mislead the course of investigation. Chakrapani Tiwari informed that his younger brother Durga had received threats to his life while leading the movement (against the government-sponsored Constitution Amendment Bill that seeks to divide Province 5). Chakrapani informed that unidentified people had shot at vice-president of FNCCI (Bhairahawa) right after demonstrations against the bid to divide Province 5. He informed that his brother had received threats of a similar atttack.
