Culprit behind the murder of Pariyar

The culprit in the incident involving the alleged murder of one Laxmi Pariyar from Kavre.At an event of road discussion organised by the alliance of girl students under the joint students’ union in the Capital today in a bid to press for ending violence against women (VAW), they expressed concerns about rising incidents of VAW that are taking place due to impunity.
Addressing the programme, Chairperson of the All Nepal National Free Students Union Nabina Lama, who also leads the alliance, condemned the murder as inhumane while demanding action against the guilty at the earliest.
Pariyar, 32, was reportedly thrashed by local people and fed human faeces before murdering her. The investigation is underway, police said.
Likewise on the occasion, Laxmi Khatiwada of the Nepal Students’ Union stressed the need for eradicating abuses and VAW incidents for building a civic society.
Also, treasurer of Sancharika Samuha Yashoda Adhikari called for all to come together against increasing incidents of VAW.
