CPN-UML Vice-Chairperson Bhim Rawal has urged the government to
immediately withdraw the constitution amendment bill registered at the
parliament for it has no rationaleAddressing a protest assembly
organized here on Monday by the youth organizations close to different
political parties standing against the constitution amendment bill, he
warned that the country would steer to confrontation if the proposal was
not taken back for country’s good.On the occasion, CPN-ML general
secretary CP Mainali said the present constitution, framed and
promulgated after a thorough study of international best constitutions
and needs of the country, is of the excellent quality.
He ruled out any need for the amendment to the constitution as it is
also Madhes-friendly.Prem Suwal of Nepal Workers Peasants Party said the
amendment proposal should in no way be advanced as it would pave the
way for the disintegration of the country.Also speaking on the occasion
were Newa Party leader and lawmaker Laxman Rajbanshi, Durga Poudel of
Rastriya Janamorcha, ANNFSU Chairperson Nabina Lama, and Youth
Association Nepal Chairperson Rajib Pahari, among others.
