The fire started from a local Agni Sedhai’s home due to gas leakage, according to police.
District Administrative Office, Tehrathum mentioned that the fire that began from 11 am reduced 29 houses to ashes.
Chief District Officer Manuka Neupane said that the fire was doused by 2:30 pm by mobilizing fire brigades and with the joint effort of police, locals and Nepali armed force.
Neupane said that three houses were demolished to contain the fire. He also said that the fire brigade was called from Panchthar as Tehrathum district lacks it.
