The
meeting today between the government and Dr Govinda KC aimed at
convincing the latter to end his fast-onto-death could not become
successful. Dr KC is on a fast-onto-death for the past 21 days to press
for reforms in medical sector. One of Dr KC’s recent demands is
resignation of Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor Dr Tirtha
Khaniya.Education Minister Dhaniram Poudel and Health Minister Gagan
Thapa were present at the meeting.There had been agreements on subjects
discussed at the meeting and final touch to them would be given on
Sunday, said Dr Jiban Chhetri, who was present at the meeting from Dr
KC’s side.He said 12 point-agreement draft that has been prepared by
both the parties of the talks team would be signed on Sunday.
