Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been prodded that the government quickened the construction of Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track and of the second international airport in Bara, which are the national pride projects. Fast track construction struggle committee and the affected district people submitted a memorandum to PM Dahal on Monday and reminded that the development activities were slowed down owing the protracted construction of much hyped fast track, and international airport in Bara.
“The fast track being constructed on 22 meter width connects capital city with a mere 76 km distance. Upon the completion of this mega project, huge amount, labour and materials would be saved for the State,” the memorandum mentioned.
The struggle committee has been organizing various pressure programmes to this regard. Under this campaign, against the traditional and the rowdy political tactics, the people affiliated to the struggle committee reached PM’s residence on foot from Ekantkuna of the Kathmandu Valley via Jawalakhel, Kupandole, Thapathali, Sundhara, Ratnapark, Durbar Marg. They had come to Capital city on foot from Bara.
On the occasion, PM Dahal tried to assure the delegation saying that government had given top priority to the reconstructions and development; so the concerned ministries would be directed to accelerate the mega projects of Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track and second international airport
