Which
 is the best transport helicopter in the world? Which is the most 
capable military transport chopper? Our Top 10 analysis is based on 
payload capacity and size. This list do not includes military transport 
helicopters, that are currently in development or at the prototype 
stage. It includes only production helicopters that are in service. All 
of the cargo helicopters mentioned here are incredibly capable.<br />
Currently top 10 military transport helicopters in the world are these:<br />
The Mil Mi-26 is the world’s largest production helicopter. It is 
known in the West as the Halo. Currently this heavy-lift machine is in 
service with nearly 20 countries, including Russia and India.<br />
Its development began in the early 1970s. Designers had a goal to 
produce a helicopter with a load capacity twice that of any contemporary
 machine. It became operational in 1983.<br />
The Mi-26 has the load-carrying capability of a C-130 transport plane. 
Its cargo area, with the rear ramp closed, is 12 m long, and 3.2 m wide,
 with a minimum ceiling height of 2.9 m.<br />
The interior can be configured to seat 80 combat-equipped troops or 60 
stretchers. However there were cases when it flew with 150 troops. 
Alternatively this cargo helicopter can carry two combat vehicles 
weighting 10 000 kg each. The Mi-26 can also carry various loads 
externally.<br />
Latest model, the Mi-26M can lift even more. It has a payload capacity of 25 000 kg.<br />
The CH-53E heavylift transport helicopter has been developed by 
Sikorsky. It has been adopted by US Marine Corps in 1981. Since then the
 Super Stallion was the largest and most powerful helicopter outside 
Russia. Currently the Super Stallion is the largest and heaviest 
helicopter used by the US military. A total of 227 machines were built 
for the US Marine Corps and US Navy.<br />
The US Marines are using these helicopters to deliver troops, vehicles 
and supplies from ships to shore. The US Navy use a small number of 
these helicopters for shipboard resupply. Also the US Navy uses a 
dedicated minesweeping version.<br />
This helicopter can carry 37 troops. With centerline seats installed the
 Super Stallion can carry 55 soldiers. Alternatively it can carry cargo 
with a maximum weight of 13.6 t internally or 14.5 t externally. It is 
capable of lifting LAV-25 armored vehicle or M198 155 mm field howitzer 
with crew and ammunition. It can recover aircraft up to its own size.<br />
Recently a new CH-53K King Stallion helicopter was developed to meet 
requirements of the US Marine Corps. It has similar airframe, but 
notably improved performance. The CH-53K should reach initial operating 
capability in 2018.<br />
The ubiquitous CH-47 Chinook was developed to meet a US Army 
requirement. It first flew back in 1961.This utility helicopter became 
operational in 1962. Since then over 1 160 have been built, including 
models license-produced in Italy and Japan. It has been exported all 
over the world. Upgraded Chinooks are planned to remain operational with
 the US Army beyond 2060, or over 100 years after it first entered 
service.<br />
The Chinook helicopter performs various transport missions. It 
transports troops, war supplies and battlefield equipment. This 
helicopter is also deployed in medical evacuation, search and rescue, 
aircraft recovery, parachute drop and other operations.<br />
It accomodates up to 44 passengers. It can lift 10 300 kg of cargo 
internally and 11 300 kg externally. It has two external cargo hooks and
 can carry various loads, such as light vehicles or artillery pieces 
externally.<br />
The CH-47F is a recent version. It can carry up to 55 passengers or up 
to 12 700 kg of cargo. Existing CH-47D helicopters can be upgraded to 
this standard, or these can be newly produced. By 2014 US Army and 
National Guard obtained 300 of these helicopters. The CH-47F has been 
exported to some countries.<br />
The V-22 Osprey is not exactly a helicopter. It is a first operational 
tiltrotor. The Osprey combines vertical lift capabilities of a 
helicopter with a flight speed of a fixed-wing turboprop aircraft. It is
 used by US Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy. Deliveries commenced
 in 2001.<br />
Currently the Osprey is one of the largest VTOL aircraft. It 
accommodates 24 troops. This tiltrotor transport can carry 9 000 kg 
internally or 6 800 kg externally.<br />

2016
 was arguably the year of the Dow on Wall Street, as the blue-chip stock
 gauge ended the year flirting with the 20,000 milestone after posting 
17 record highs after Election Day.<br />
But a look back at 2016 is a stark reminder that the year didn’t 
start well for the Dow Jones industrial average and that there were 
scares along the way. Still, the Dow posted a 13.4% gain in 2016 — its 
best gain since 2013 — even though its late-year quest for Dow 20K fell 
237 points short after ending the year at 19,762.60.<br />

Jan. 4 – Jan. 8: The first week of 2016 was a downer for the Dow. The

 least one gunman shot his way into an Istanbul nightclub packed with 
hundreds of New Year’s revellers on Sunday, killing 35 people and 
wounding more than 40 in what the provincial governor described as a 
terrorist attack.<br />
One assailant shot a police officer and a civilian as he entered the 
Reina nightclub before opening fire at random inside, Istanbul Governor 
Vasip Sahin said at the scene. Some reports suggested there were 
multiple attackers.<br />
“A terrorist with a long-range weapon … brutally and savagely carried 
out this attack by firing bullets on innocent people who were there 
solely to celebrate the New Year and have fun,” Sahin told reporters.<br />
The attack again shook Turkey as it tries to recover from a failed July 
coup and a series of deadly bombings in cities including Istanbul and 
the capital Ankara, some blamed on Islamic State and others claimed by 
Kurdish militants.<br />
The club, one of Istanbul’s most iconic, popular with locals and 
foreigners alike, overlooks the Bosphorus Strait separating Europe and 
Asia in the city’s cosmopolitan Ortakoy district.<br />
Around 500 to 600 people were thought to have been inside when the 
gunman opened fire at around 1:15 am (2230 GMT), broadcaster CNN Turk 
said. Some jumped into the waters of the Bosphorus to save themselves 
and were rescued by police.<br />
US President Barack Obama, on vacation in Hawaii, expressed condolences 
and directed his team to offer help to the Turkish authorities, the 
White House said.<br />
Sahin said there was only one attacker but other reports, including on 
social media, suggested there may have been at least two, dressed in 
Santa Claus costumes which they later ditched.<br />
The Hurriyet newspaper cited witnesses as saying there were multiple attackers and that they shouted in Arabic.<br />
“We were having fun. All of a sudden people started to run. My husband 
said don’t be afraid, and he jumped on me. People ran over me. My 
husband was hit in three places,” one club-goer, Sinem Uyanik, told the 
newspaper.<br />
“I managed to push through and get out, it was terrible,” she said, 
describing seeing people soaked in blood and adding that there appeared 
to have been at least two gunmen.

 life has been affected in Nepal as a Maoist faction on Monday imposed a
 nationwide strike to pressurise the government to ensure food security 
and lower the prices of essential goods, with police arresting more than
 100 people for vandalising vehicles and forcing shops to close.<br />
The strike was called by the Netra Bikram Chand led CPN (Maoist). 
Most of the educational institutions remained closed in Kathmandu and 
shops remained partially closed. Most of the public vehicles including 
taxis were off the road.<br />
Maoist cadres vandalised vehicles in different parts of the country. 
The police arrested at least 100 cadres belonging to the CPN-Maoist 
(Chanda), a smaller faction of Maoist party, who were involved in 
vandalising shops and vehicles to enforce the shut down, the police 
said.<br />
Media reports said that the party was demanding food guarantee of the
 people and opposing price hike of the consumer goods. A large number of
 security personnel have been deployed in the capital city streets to 
prevent any untoward incident.<br />
The agitators torched a parked taxi and two motorcycles as they defied the strike, according to the police.<br />

expenses go up, the insurer has to absorb the loss. With a

The earthquake in Nepal was so violent it moved mountains. Satellite imagery shows that the parts of the Himalayas sank three feet—and the area around it as much as five feet—as tectonic plates snapped under extreme pressure. But the mountains will regain their height, slowly but surely, thanks to the geologic forces at work.

The European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1A radar satellite captured before and after images of the area hit by the earthquake. The image below show how the Eurasian plate bent, the land falling in some places (yellow) and rising in others (blue). The area of the Himalaya’s Langtang range sank by three feet. Everest, which was further away from the earthquake, sank about an inch.The Himalayas were formed, after all, by the Indian plate pushing into the Eurasian plate. And the mountains are still growing thanks to the constant pressure at the fault. In the earthquake, though, the plate under Kathmandu snapped like a rubber band, causing the opposite to happen. Tim Wright, professor of satellite geodesy at the University of Leeds, explained what happened to the BBC.

 Sweta Khadka has mourned the death of her husband of a month, actor 
Shree Krishna Shrestha for more than a year. Getting over the shock to 
Sweta was a huge struggle. She had sought the help of doctors in Nepal 
and the USA for the treatment and now, it seems she is coming back.<br />
Sweta and Shree had told that they were in a honeymoon trip after 
their marriage in July of 2014 but, she had to return alone after his 
death in August. In the first interview to BBC Nepali, almost a year 
after Shree’s death, she was still in shock and had cried a lot. In 
April, at the time of Nepal Earthquake of April, Sweta was in the USA, 
undergoing 3-months-long treatment and showing ‘Kohinoor’. On her return
 back from the USA, she had started smiling.<br />
More and more of her smiling photos and her participation in public 
functions has resumed these days. During the one-year-of-death event, 
Sweta had promised to get over the mourning and get back to normal life.

A teenage girl has undergone life-saving surgery to remove a cyst from her ovary – which weighed as much as a five-year-old.

Khalida Akhter, 18, suffered from chronic stomach pain before the emergency procedure to remove the 21kg growth.

Doctors initially believed she was suffering a gastric problem but had to act as the pain intensified over a six-month period.

As the pain grew so did the size of her stomach, which left her looking pregnant as well as keeping her bed bound.

She said: “When it started I lost my appetite whenever I ate, I used to vomit, my hands and feet swelled.

“I felt more and more pain, my abdomen was the size of a pregnant woman.”

The student was forced to drop out of school due to the pain and swelling.

“I stopped going to school because my legs and arms had lots of pain, I couldn’t write anything,” she added.

As Khalida, from Kashmir, India, became more secluded, rumours of her health began to circulate around her small village as locals began to believe she was pregnant or cursed.

Khalida said: “We went to a saint for a cure, as people said that I was cursed with some evil eye.”

Fearing the worst, Khalida’s parents travelled with their daughter to the nearest hospital in the area and begged medical staff to help them.

गुजारा चलाउन बाध्य छन् ।

उनको दिनचर्या भैंसी हेरचाहमै बित्छ । अहिले पनि गाउँघरमा हुने कुस्ती प्रतियोगितामा सहभागी हुँदै आएका उनको गुजारा चलाउने सहारा दुई दुहुना भैंसी भएका छन् । सन् १९९५ मा भारतको मद्रासमा सम्पन्न दक्षिण एसियाली महासंघीय (साफ) खेलकुदमा ७४ केजी तौल समूहको कुस्तीमा उनी भिडेका थिए । त्यतिबेला सफल हुन सकेनन् ।

प्रथम खेलकुद प्रतियोगितादेखि नै सहभागी भई उनले राष्ट्रिय खेलमा दर्जनौं स्वर्ण, रजत र कांस्य जितेका छन् । आफ्नो जीवनको ऊर्जाशील समय देशको प्रतिष्ठाका लागि कुस्ती खेलेर बिताए पनि राज्यको बेवास्ताका कारण गुजारा चलाउन भैंसीको सहारा लिनुपरेको उनले दुखेसो पोखे ।

‘तीन वर्षअघि गागन खोलामा गिट्टी चालेर गुजारा चलाएँ,’ सम्पत्तिको नाममा ६ कट्ठा जग्गा मात्र भएका उनले भने, ‘अहिले भैंसी पालेर दूध बिक्रीबाट गुजारा चलाइरहेको छु ।’

उनले भने, ‘दुइटा भैंसीबाट साँझ/बिहान दैनिक १६ लिटर दूध हुन्छ, त्यसमध्ये १० लिटर प्रतिलिटर ६० रुपैयाँका दरले बिक्री गर्छु । बाँकी आफ्नो र परिवारका लागि राख्छु ।’

केही ऋण र गागन खोलामा गिट्टी चालेरै उनले तीन छोरीको विवाह पनि गरिदिए । अहिले उनको साथमा एक छोरा र पत्नी छन् । उनले आफ्नो छोरालाई कुस्ती खेलप्रति कहिल्यै आकर्षित हुन दिएनन् ।

काठमाडौं, विराटनगर, चितवन, नेपालगन्ज, वीरगन्ज र राजविराजलगायत विभिन्न स्थानमा १ वर्ष ३ महिना कुस्ती प्रशिक्षण लिइसकेका उनले राज्यले कुस्ती खेल र खेलाडीलाई उपेक्षा गरेको गुनासो गरे । तीन वर्षअघि सिरहा सदरमुकामस्थित क्याम्पस चौरमा देब्रे खुट्टा मर्किंदा उपचारमा एक लाख रुपैयाँभन्दा बढी खर्च भए पनि कतैबाट सहयोग नपाएको उनले बताए ।

राज्यको उपेक्षाका कारण देशमा कुस्ती खेल र खेलाडीको अवस्था नाजुक बन्दै गएकामा उनले दु:ख व्यक्त गरे । पौराणिक र मौलिक कुस्ती खेल लोकप्रिय भए पनि राज्यकै उपेक्षाका कारण समाप्त हुन लागेकोप्रति उनले चिन्ता व्यक्त गरे ।

कुस्ती खेलका जानकारका अनुसार आधुनिक कुस्तीको इतिहास यसको लोकप्रियताको विकाससँगै १९ औं शताब्दीदेखि सुरु भएको हो । नेपाल कुस्ती संघका अनुसार विश्वका २ सय १६ देशमा कुस्ती खेलिन्छ ।

महाभारत, रामायणकालीनदेखि कुस्ती खेलिंदै आए पनि नेपालमा भने आधुनिक कुस्तीको सुरुआत २०४५ सालमा वीरगन्जबाट भएको बताउँछन् सातौं राष्ट्रिय खेलकुदका कुस्ती निर्णायक समितिका प्रमुख संयोजक विद्यासागर पोखरेल ।

कुस्ती संघका महासचिव एवं मुख्य प्रशिक्षक पोखरेलले सरकारी नीति ठीक नहुँदा धेरै खेलाडी पलायन भइसकेको बताए । ‘प्रथम खेलकुददेखि सहभागी, राष्ट्रिय खेलमा दर्जनौं स्वर्णपदक जितेका र सातौं साफ खेलकुदमा भाग लिएका जनक जस्ता पुरानार् अनुभवी खेलाडीलाई राज्य जगेर्ना गर्न नसक्नु खेल जगतो दुर्भाग्य हो,’ उनले भने, ‘मौलिक कुस्ती खेल र खेलाडीलाई राज्यले जगेर्ना गर्नु आवश्यक छ

Deuba asserts amendment bill would be endorsed

 Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the constitution 
amendment bill registered at the Legislature-Parliament would be 
endorsed at any cost. NC President Deuba said this while addressing a 
mass gathering organized by NC, Baglung Constituency-1 here on Saturday 
on the occasion of 41st National Reconciliation Day. “The amendment bill
 would be tabled at the parliament. It would be endorsed by all means. 
We are determined to get it done from the parliament,” Deuba added.<br />
He accused the opposition parties including CPN-UML of acting against 
democracy by keeping the parliament hostage. Deuba, also the former 
Prime Minister, urged the opposition to end parliamentary deadlock and 
asserted that, “The parliamentary process would advance despite 
disruption”.<br />
“Disrupting parliament does would to augur well. It would move ahead 
following the process”, Deuba said, adding that, “Oppositions have the 
right to get the bill disapproved; let them defeat us through the 
process”.<br />
He reiterated that the incumbent government has come up with amendment 
proposal in consistent with earlier agreement reached between NC then 
President Sushil Koirala and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli.<br />
Leader Deuba clarified that the government has put forth the 
constitution amendment proposal to keep national unity and 
reconciliation. “The country belongs to all people. Our nationality 
would not be strong by distrusting Madhes”.<br />
“It is the Madhesi people who reside along the border and defend the 
country. There is a need to make unity among the Madhes, hill and 
mountainous regions robust”, leader Deuba noted.

१५ पुस, पोखरा । उर्जामन्त्री जनार्दन शर्मा प्रभाकरले उज्यालो नेपाल बनाउने अभियानमा निरन्तर बाधा हालिरहेको बताएका छन् ।

कास्कीको सिल्दुजुरे गाविसस्थित माथिल्लो मादी जलविद्युत आयोजनाको 
उद्घाटन गर्दै मन्त्री शर्माले आफू मन्त्री भएदेखि अहिलेसम्म ५ वटा 
मुद्दाको सामना गरिरहेको बताए । इमान्दारितार्पूक र विधिसम्मत ढंगले काम 
गर्दा पनि अनावश्यक राजनीति गरेर हैरान पारिएको भन्दै उनले भने, ‘काम गर्न 
नदिएर हैरान पार्ने गरिएको छ तर म निराश हुँदैन, उज्यालो नेपाल र समृद्ध 
नेपालको लागि जस्तोसुकै चुनौतिको सामना गर्न पनि तयार छु ।’<br />
जलविद्युत आयोजनाबाट प्रभावित जनताको लागि १० प्रतिशत र अन्य क्षेत्रका 
जनताको लागि २० प्रतिशत गरी ३० प्रतिशत शेयर जनताको लागि वितरण गर्ने नीति 
सरकारले बनाएको उनले बताए ।<br />
कांग्रेस सांसद यज्ञ बहादुर थापाले वर्तमान सरकारमा उर्जा मन्त्रालयको 
काम सबैभन्दा प्रभावकारी देखिएको भन्दै नीजि क्षेत्रको लगानी प्रोत्साहित 
हुनेगरी काम गर्न सुझाव दिएका छन् । उनले सीसाघाट-सिक्लेस-मादी करिडोर सडक 
निर्माणलाई प्राथमिकतामा राख्न आग्रह गरे ।<br />
एमाले सांसद एवं विकास समितिका सभापति रविन्द्र अधिकारीले ४ नम्बर 
प्रदेशमा सञ्चालित जलविद्युत आयोजनाले मुलुकमा ५३ प्रतिशत विद्युत आपूर्ति 
गरेको भन्दै यस प्रदेशलाई अँध्यारोमुक्त बनाउन माग गरे । उनले पर्यटकीय 
नगरी पोखरालाई तत्काल लोडसेडिङमुक्त बनाउन सरकारको ध्यानाकर्षण गराएका छन् ।<br />
तत्कालीन प्रधानमन्त्री बाबुराम भट्टराईले २०६९ पुस १३ गते माथिल्लो मादी जलविद्युत आयोजनाको शिलान्यास गरेका थिए ।<br />
मादी पावर प्रालिका बिजयबाबु मल्लको २० प्रतिशत र चाइना इन्टरनेशनल वाटर
 एण्ड इलेक्टि्रक कर्पोरेशनको ८० प्रतिशत लगानी रहेको यस आयोजनाको कुल लागत
 ७ अर्ब रहेको छ । चार वर्ष लगाएर निर्माण सम्पन्न भएको आयोजनाबाट आजदेखि 
केन्द्रीय प्रसारण लाईनमा साढे १२ मेगावाट बिद्युत थपिएको छ ।<br />
आयोजनाबाट असारदेखि कात्तिकसम्म मात्र पूर्ण क्षमता अर्थात २५ मेगावाट 
विद्युत उत्पादन हुन्छ । बाँकी ८ महिना आधाभन्दा कम मात्र विद्युत उत्पादन 
हुन्छ ।

 संशोधनका पक्षमा दुई तिहाइ पुग्ने भारतीय राजदूत रन्जित रेको आश्वासनपछि 
आन्दोलनरत संयुक्त लोकतान्त्रिक मधेसी मोर्चाले सांकेतिक विरोधसँगै संशोधन 
विधेयकका पक्षमा मतदान गर्ने भएको खबर आजको अन्नपूर्ण पोष्टमा छ ।<br />
राजधानीमा बिहीबार सुरु भएको मोर्चाको बैठकअघि बिहान भारतीय 
राजदूतावासमा राजदूत रेको मन्त्रणा लिई फर्केका मोर्चाका शीर्ष नेताहरू यो 
निर्णयमा पुगेका हुन्।
राजदूत रेले उनीहरूलाई आफू एमालेसँग अनौपचारिक सम्पर्कमा रहेको र 
एमालेले संशोधनको समर्थन नगरे पनि प्रस्तावका पक्षमा संसद्मा दुई तिहाइ 
पुग्ने दाबी गर्दै मतदानमार्फत सरकारलाई समर्थन गर्नसमेत आग्रह गरेको 
स्रोतले बतायो।<br />
अहिलेलाई पुष्पकमल दाहाल नेतृत्वको सरकारको विकल्प खोज्ने पक्षमा भारत 
नभएको धारणासमेत रेले उनीहरूलाई बताएका थिए। राजदूत रेको ब्रेक फास्टमा 
तराईमधेस लोकतान्त्रिक पार्टीका अध्यक्ष महन्थ ठाकुर, सद्भावना पार्टीका 
अध्यक्ष राजेन्द्र महतो र तराईमधेस सद्भावना पार्टीका अध्यक्ष 
महेन्द्रप्रसाद यादव सहभागी थिए।<br />
तमसपाका सहअध्यक्ष रामनरेश रायले बिहीबार बिहान मोर्चाका नेताहरूलाई राजदूत रेले ब्रेक फास्टमा बोलाएको पुष्टि गरे।<br />
उनले भने, ‘यो बैठकमा संशोधन, नेपालको विद्यमान राजनीति परिस्थितिका 
बारेमा छलफलभन्दा अरू के नै हुन सक्छ र रु यिनै विषयमा परामर्श भएको हो।’ 
ब्रेक फास्ट बैठकका कारण तमलोपाको केन्द्रीय कार्यालयमा शीर्ष बैठकको पहिलो
 दिन बिहीबार पूर्वनिर्धारित समयभन्दा एक घन्टा ढिलो गरी मध्याह्न १२ बजे 
मोर्चाका नेतात्रय बैठकस्थल पुगेका थिए।<br />
दोस्रो दिनको शीर्ष बैठकमा महतो र यादव सहभागी थिएनन्। उनीहरू सहभागी 
नहुनुका कारणबारेमा स्रोतले भन्यो, ‘ब्रेक फास्टमा विरोधका कार्यक्रम 
नल्याउने सहमति गरी फर्केका नेताले युवाले भरिएको बैठकमा विरोधका कार्यक्रम
 रोक्न नसकेर सहभागी नभएका हुन्।’<br />
दोस्रो तहका नेताहरूको दबाबमा मोर्चा बैठकले संशोधन प्रस्ताव पारित नभए 
कुनै पनि निर्वाचन बहिष्कार गर्ने, प्रस्तावित संशोधन विधेयक परिमार्जन 
हुनुपर्ने, एमालेका गैरसंसदीय क्रियाकलापको विरोध गर्नुका साथै संशोधन 
परिमार्जन गरी पारित नगर्न सोमबार खबरदारी सभा गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ।<br />
संसद् अवरोध नगर्न एमालेलाई चेतावनी<br />
मधेसी मोर्चाले संसद्मा दर्ता भएको संशोधन प्रस्तावलाई सहमतिका आधारमा 
परिमार्जन गरी पारित नगरिएसम्म कुनै पनि तहको निर्वाचन मान्य नहुने निर्णय 
गरेको छ। दुईदिने मोर्चा शीर्ष बैठकको निर्णय सार्वजनिक गर्न शुक्रबार 
आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा तमलोपा अध्यक्ष महन्थ ठाकुरले यस्तो निर्णय भएको 
जानकारी दिएका हुन्।<br />
एमालेले संशोधन रोक्न अलोकतान्त्रिक र गैरसंसदीय अभ्यास गरिरहेको भन्दै 
मधेसी मोर्चाले यस्ता गैरसंसदीय क्रियाकलापको घोर भत्र्सना गर्दै, तत्काल 
संसद् सञ्चालन गराउँदै लोकतान्त्रिक प्रतिपक्षीको भूमिका निर्वाह गर्न

 Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was the king of Nepal from 1972 to 2001 
AD. He was born in 1945 AD in kathmandu. He was the eldest Son of King 
Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. Birendra was educated in India and England
 before taking degree from the University of Tokyo in Japan and Harvard 
University in the United States. He ascended to the throne as King of 
Nepal in 1972, following the death if his father, and was formally 
crowned in 1975. Birendra inherited a political system that banned the 
formation of political parties and allowed for the autocratic rule of 
the King though a non-party system of councils known as panchayats.<br />
In 1980, in the face of political demonstrations and general unrest king
 Birendra called for a referendum to allow the people to choose between 
the existing panchayat system and a multiparty system. The referendum 
returned a slight majority for maintaining the panchayat system with 
certain modifications. Birendra allowed a number of democratizing 
reforms, such as the direct popular election of the Rashtriya Panchayat.
 In 1990 a coalition of opposition forces, including a number of 
political parties operating unofficially, began an agitation against the
 panchayat system. When the protests turned violent, Birendra conceded 
democratic sovereignty to the people in a new constitution, ending the 
panchayat system and allowing for general elections and the emergence of
 political parties.

 चरम दुरुपयोग गर्दै विभागका हाकिमहरूले गुप्तचरहरूलाई आफ्नो व्यक्तिगत 
कामदार बनाउँदा संगठन नै कमजोर बन्न पुगेको छ ।<br />

 उनको घरमा रामनाथ चौधरी घरेलु कामदारका रूपमा कार्यरत छन् । सिपाहीदेखि नै
 शर्माको घरमा बसेका चौधरी सइमा बढुवा भइसकेका छन् । उनको जिम्मेवारी

 हुँदै आएको थियो । नयाँ संविधानले विभागमा कर्मचारी नियुक्तिमा लोकसेवा 
आयोगको प्रतिनिधित्व अनिवार्य प्रतिनिधित्वको र सहमतिको व्यवस्था कायम 
गरेपछि सोर्सफोर्सका आधारमा नियुक्ति बन्द भएको छ । विगतमा विभागमा 
राजनीतिक हस्तक्षेप हुने गरेकाले कर्मचारीहरूको अहिलेसम्म दुरुपयोग भएको हो
 ।<br />
राजनीतिक दलका धेरै नेताहरूको घरमा गुप्तचरका कर्मचारीहरू कार्यरत छन् ।
 नेताहरूले शक्तिको प्रयोग गरी आफ्ना कार्यकर्तालाई अनुसन्धानमा कर्मचारी 
भर्ना गर्ने गरेका छन् । विभागबाट तलब दिलाएर दलका नेताहरूले उनीहरूलाई 
आफ्नो घरमा काम गराउँदै आएका छन् ।<br />
<b>अनुसन्धानका कर्मचारी घरेलु कामदार बस्ने व्यवस्था छैन</b><br />
राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान विभागको विशेष सेवा नियमावलीमा नेता तथा हाकिमहरूले 
आफ्नो कर्मचारीलाई खटाउने कुनै प्रावधान छैन । नेपाल प्रहरी र सशस्त्र 
प्रहरीले विशेष कार्यविधि बनाएर अवकाशप्राप्त एआइजीहरूलाई परिचरको सुविधा 
खटाउँदै आएका छन् । तर, अनुसन्धान विभागमा त्यस्तो कुनै प्रावधान छैन । 
सोर्सफोर्सका आधारमा ५० भन्दा धेरै कर्मचारी सरकारको तलबमा नेता र 
हाकिमहरूको घरमा काम गर्दै आएका छन् । करिब तीन हजार जनशक्ति रहेको 
राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान विभागमा धेरै जनशक्तिको दुरुपयोग हुँदै आएको छ ।<br />
विभागमा अधिकांश राजनीतिक सोर्सफोर्सका आधारमा भर्ना भएकाले उनीहरूले 
आफूअनुकूल र धेरैले गृहजिल्लामा सरुवा मिलाएका छन् । जहाँ उनीहरू 
कार्यालयमा हाजिर गरेर आफ्ना व्यवसायलगायत अन्य काममा लाग्ने गरेका छन् । 
निवर्तमान गृहमन्त्री शक्ति बस्नेतले गत वर्ष संसद्को राज्यव्यवस्था 
समितिमा विभागका अधिकारीहरूले आफूले चाहेअनुसार सरुवा गर्न सके धेरै सुधार 
हुने बताएका थिए । तर, नेताहरूको दबाबका कारण विभागका कर्मचारीलाई सरुवा 
गर्न नसकिएको उनको भनाइ थियो ।<br />
<b>कुन हाकिमका घरमा कति गुप्तचर ?</b><br />
स्रोतका अनुसार विभागका प्रमुख दिलीप रेग्मी र एआइजीहरूले समेत तल्लो तहका 
कर्मचारीलाई आफ्नो घरमा काम लगाउँदै आएका छन् । अनुसन्धान विभागका 
पूर्वप्रमुख मोती गुरुङको घरमा विभागका दुईजना कर्मचारी काम गर्दछन् । 
यसैगरी, पूर्वप्रमुख हरिबाबु चौधरी, गोविन्द थापा, विष्णुराज पन्त, अशोकदेव
 भट्टको घरमा पनि एक–एकजना अनुन्धानका कर्मचारी घरेलु कामदारका रूपमा 
कार्यरत छन् । पूर्वडिआइजी सुखचन्द्र झाको घरमा दुईजना कर्मचारी कार्यरत 
रहेको स्रोत बताउँछ । झा मधेस छानबिन आयोगको सदस्य हुन् ।<br />
<b>गृहप्रवक्ता र विभाग प्रमुखको कुरा बाझियो</b><br />
गृह मन्त्रालयका प्रवक्ता बालकृष्ण पन्थीले राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान विभागका 
कर्मचारीले घरेलु कामदारका रूपमा काम गरेकोबारे आफूलाई जानकारी नभएको बताए ।
 विभागका प्रमुख दिलीप रेग्मीले अवकाशप्राप्त प्रमुखहरूलाई सहयोगीको सुविधा
 नभएको बताए । यद्यपि, एक–दुईजना कर्मचारी कसैको घरमा खटिएको हुनसक्ने उनले
 स्विकारे ।

शुक्रबार धरानमा हुनेछ । उपराष्ट्रपति नन्दबहादुर पुनले प्रतियोगिताको 
समापन गर्ने कार्यक्रम छ ।
सातौ राष्ट्रिय खेलकुदमा शुक्रबार ६ वटा खेलका पदकको टुङगो लाग्दैछ । 
क्रिकेट तथा ह्याण्डबल बिराटनगरमा हुँदैछ भने धरानमा पुरुष फुटवल, धनकुटामा
 चेस, झापाको धुलाबारीमा जिम्न्याष्टीक र काठमाडौंमा फेन्सीङको फाइनल 
हुँदैछ ।<br />
पुरुष क्रिकेटको उपाधिका लागि सशस्त्र प्रहरीको एपिएफ र नेपाल आर्मी 
मोरङको बैजनाथपुरमा खेल्दैछन् । पुरुष फुटवलमा स्वर्णका लागि नेपाल आर्मी र
 एपिएफ खेल्नेछन् । ह्यान्डबलको पुरुष र महिला स्पर्धामा उपाधिका लागि 
आर्मी र एपीएफ खेल्नेछन । फाइनल खेल्न बाँकी नै रहेपनि बुद्धिचालको उपाधि 
भने नेपाली सेनाकी मोनालिसा खम्बुले जितिसकेकी छिन् ।

 documentary ‘Katha Nalapani’ about the unification of Nepal was 
screened at Nepal Army Headquarters, on Friday.The documentary was 
produced focusing the battle that took place around the Nalapani fort 
during the unification.The Nepali battalion under the leadership of 
Balbhadra Kunwar comprising women and children had braved the British 
militants carrying modern arms in the Nalapani battle.<br />
<i>The organizer showed confidence that the documentary would help 
young generation know why the Nalapani battle took place, what Nepal 
achieved from it.</i><br />
<i>The documentary informs that there was the contribution of all 
classes on the unification of Nepal and no one had compromised on the 
nation and nationality.The Nalapani battle carries a huge significance 
in Nepal’s unification history.</i><br />
<i>Gorkhali battalion numbered around 600 comprising women and 
children had to fight the war without drinking water for four days after
 the enemies cut off the water supply.</i><br />
<i>The film has also portrayed the scenes featuring two children 
crying, an injured child sucking its mother’s breast and injured man and
 woman battling death when the English battalion entered the fort after 
winning the fight.

 beat the last record of 40 words’ memory by Hyderabad dweller Jay 
Singh.<br />
“We take our brain in wholesome. In a look, it seems there is only one 
brain. But according to the scientists, our brain is divided into two 
parts – right brain and left brain. There is only 10 percent capacity of
 left brain, whereas, there is 90 percent capacity of right brain. 
People even die without using that 90 percent of the brain. This is the 
reason why 99.99 percent of the population are unsuccessful because they
 do not utilize their 90 percent of the brain. I use right brain to 
memorize anything so I can memorize any number of sequence memory and
