Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi on Wednesday
directed party cadres not to protest the Constitution Amendment process.
He told NC cadres to create a conducive environment for amendment by
resisting CPN-UML’s provocations. Nidhi, speaking at a programme
organised at Bhadgaun of Gulmi, described the UML as an anti-federal
force. He told the Congress cadres: Don’t go against the party decision.
In an oblique reference to the UML, Nidhi said: Beware of those
spearheading a movement on the basis of falsehood. It should be noted
that the Congress has stood in favour of redrawing the boundaries of
Province 5 by removing Hill districts. Nidhi even went on to claim that
the government’s proposal on changing the boundaries of Province 5 is in
the interest of Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa and Rupandehi districts.
