Phulchowki hill is located in the south east of Kathmandu valley and
popular for romantic views, different species of birds and lowers.
Phulchowki is the highest hill among the surrounding hills of Kathmandu
valley where you can take enjoy of snow in the winter season. Phulchowki
hill is 20 km. Far from Kathmandu city and there are two ways to reach
to Phulchowki hill. If you want quite long walk around the hills of
Kathmandu valley you can go to Phulchowki hill through Namobuddha. But
if you are hurry and want short walk to reach to Phulchowki you can go
direct ascend from Godawori. Phulchowki hill is surrounded by the dense
forest of the different plants including Rhododendron. Because of this
beautiful and dense forest different species of birds and butterflies
and some animals can be found in Phulchowki hill. In beautiful forest of
the Phulchowki hill you can see the different kinds of birds such as
the Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Niltava, Yellow-browed
Tit, Chestnut-headed Tesia, Red-billed Leiothrix, Whiskered Yuhina,
Besra, Bronzed and Racket-tailed Drongos, Greater Yellow nape,
Grey-headed Woodpecker, Nepal Cutia, Ultramarine Flycatcher, and
Black-winged Cuckoo shrike. There is the shrine of Phulchowki Mai;
guardian goddess on the top of the Phulchowki hill.
