The government has made preparation to mark the 107th International Women’s Day in an effective manner on March 8.
The President’s Women Uplift Programme would be initiated from Kapilvastu on March 7. Women would be imparted with income-generating skill as per the programme.
At a news conference organised by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare here today, Minister Kumar Khadka said that income-generating skill was necessary for financial empowerment of women.
‘Skillful hands and employment: Foundation to respect of women’ is the main slogan of this year’s International Women Day in the country. A Main Organising Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Secretary at the Ministry, Bishnu Prasad Lamsal, to make the International Women’s Day a success.
